Why We Ride

Our goal is to raise awareness & funds to help the poor in Zambia, Africa who do not have access to clean water or the basic tools for sanitation & hygiene. We have seen how access to clean water, education, & a bicycle can transform a life.

All funds from our event go to our implementing partner, World Vision as the largest provider of clean water in the world. Together with our Brake The Cycle supporters, our hope is to continue to help communities lift themselves out of poverty by providing basic resources that we take for granted.

The Need

Every day nearly 1,000 children die from disease caused by contaminated water, poor sanitation, & unsafe hygiene practices. The search for clean water is an arduous task. These are problems that can be solved in our lifetime.

The Solution

Our implementing partner is World Vision, the world’s largest provider of clean water. As experts & natives of Zambia, they bring critical knowledge & sensitivity to local culture and customs. With nearly 700 World Vision employees in Zambia they are uniquely equipped to help us achieve our goals and change lives to those most in need.

The Ask

Our goal this year is to provide 200 bicycles and access to clean water for 4600+ people in Zambia. You can join us in Aspen, Steamboat Springs, or Georgia as a road biker, mountain biker, gravel biker, E biker, volunteer, or dinner guest. Help us Ride against Poverty!
