Leadership

The heartbeat of Brake the Cycle is a group of passionate individuals who collectively, have a vision and drive to change lives of those who lack the basic essentials of life. While we each have different backgrounds and skills, we are bound together as a Board leading the BTC efforts to educate, to raise awareness and to raise funds to help the poorest in Zambia lift themselves out of poverty. In doing so, the Board Members are committed to funding the annual operating budget of BTC with the goal of sending 100% of funds raised through our various events directly to the field.

We currently have three distinct Board roles:

The Founders Board - Founders offer high level consultation, leadership and connection to other like minded peers for additional fundraising opportunities. Our Founders are also expected to be active donors.

Active Board Members - are responsible for oversight and administration of Brake the Cycle in keeping with its 501c3 charter. Board Members commit to a three year term as well as being active donors. Members are also expected to take an active role in BTC by finding an area of responsibility based upon their individual passion and talents.

Ambassadors - a newly created (2023) role for those wanting to take a role in BTC without the level of Board commitment. They will represent our “Brand” and help spread our story based upon their individual areas of interest and influence. Ambassadors will fall under Board supervision and advisement.
