COVID-19 Guidelines for Aspen Invitational

Brake the Cycle’s leadership team is working with the City of Aspen, Pitkin County, US Forest Service, Pitkin County Public Health, and the Limelight Aspen to adhere to all governmental restrictions regarding COVID-19 and social distancing. Current requirements are social distancing of 6 feet, wearing of masks when you are less than 6 feet, no gatherings larger than 50 people, and a staggered start time of ten people for all outdoor athletic events.

We have made the following adjustments to our typical schedule and look forward to a responsible, adventurous, and inspiring weekend.

  • Added a Virtual riding option for those not able to join us.

  • Added a Brake the Cycle Strava Club to offer increased camaraderie and connection before the event.

  • Hosted a Kickoff Call with the Pros that included Q&A before event to increase camaraderie and connection before the event.

  • Recorded video volunteer training for support team instead of an in person meeting.

  • Staggered start time of riders, increased availability of hand sanitizer and prepackaged snacks at rest stops.

  • In person registration (masks required) at Limelight Aspen on July 10th with recorded video ride and safety overview for riders to watch at their convenience.

  • Post ride boxed lunch instead of buffet.

  • Celebratory Dinner will take place in the Limelight Aspen’s fabulous outdoor courtyard adhering to all restrictions. Kudos to the Limelight for doing a fantastic job with their careful and meticulous focus on modifying their operations, particularly when it comes to increased sanitization processes.

  • Masks and buffs provided through the weekend.
